Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is your shampoo certified organic?
Our shampoo is made with organic ingredients, but the total product is not 'USDA Certified' organic. We use certified organic aloe vera as the primary ingredient in our shampoo due to the gentle moisturizing properties it offers. Our shampoo does have a very high organic content that is above the % required to be USDA certified.
Is your shampoo cruelty free?
Absolutely! Our shampoo is certified cruelty free by Leaping Bunny. The certification guarantees every aspect of our shampoo is 100% cruelty free (no animal testing) throughout the entire process; from our ingredient suppliers, to manufacturing, to the final product and certification is recognized in the U.S., Canada and the European Union.
Why does it matter if dog shampoo is gluten free?
Simply put... If you don't know what dog shampoo tastes like, you haven't washed a dog. If you are sensitive to gluten, it is important to know if products are gluten free.
Can I use your shampoo on my cat?
Do not use any shampoo that contains essential oils when bathing your cat! Our shampoo includes a warning on the label not to use our original scent, lavender scent or any of our upcoming scented options on cats. Products containing essential oils are not intended for use on any feline. Our unscented version is the only option we offer that is safe for use on cats.
My dog has sensitive skin. Which Mr. Wigglebottom's® scent should I use?
As every human is different, each dog is different too and some have allergies or sensitivity to certain things. For sensitive dogs, or puppies, we recommend the unscented option or the lavender scent. Many of our customers have dogs with sensitive skin and they highly recommend the lavender. (See the customer comments on our testimonials page... especially the one from our friends at Villalobos Rescue Center - from the show "Pitbulls and Parolees" on Animal Planet)
Is it important for a shampoo to be pH balanced for dogs?
Definitely YES! Dogs have a different pH level than humans so they need a shampoo made specifically for them. If you use a shampoo intended for humans on your dog, it can dry out their skin, their coat and possibly lead to more skin issues down the road. Petmd.com has a good source for more details on human pH levels vs. dog pH levels and why it is important to have a shampoo with the right pH for your pup. Read the article here
Your original scent contains citronella. Does that mean it is a flea and tick shampoo?
We do not market our original scent as a flea and tick shampoo because we have not specifically tested to determine with 100% surety that it gets rid of fleas and/or ticks. However, some of our customers and local shelters have used our original scent and told us they had good results. At this time, our company does not claim the original scent is a definite flea & tick shampoo.
Where is your shampoo made?
Our shampoo is made in Texas.
Do you offer wholesale pricing?
Yes, we do! If you are a business, pet boutique or pet supply store, please email us for more info. You must have a sales tax ID number or be a 501c3 dog rescue group (registered with the IRS) to obtain wholesale pricing on our products.
What are surfactants?
Surfactants create lather or foam in shampoo and soap. We use a minimal amount of surfactants in our shampoo for a lather that is easy to rinse away and will leave your dog's coat feeling shiny and soft without a residue.
